mParticle CEO, Michael Katz, participated in a panel at VentureBeat’s MobileBeat 2016 conference this month along with execs from Weather.com, TripAdvisor, and Yelp. The panel discussion surrounded the importance of apps as bots grow in popularity.
Is it truly a bot-driven world? If not, will it be in the future? Katz suggested that pitting apps and bots against each other might not be the best way to view this topic. He argued that bots are merely extensions of apps. Katz stated, “You can look at a bot as the moon that orbits around the app as the planetary being. I think we’d all probably agree that bots are great when it’s limited, one-dimensional use. It’s about convenience, whereas apps are about loyalty.”
